Terry Johansson

The founder of Johansson Solicitors, Terry Johansson graduated in law and commerce from Melbourne University in 1974, and immediately commenced to practice law.

He practices in both Victoria and New South Wales , having been admitted to practice in those states in 1974 and 1984 respectively.

He is also admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales .

He is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria's Probate, Wills and Administration Committee.

Terry is a Wills and Estates Specialist, one of only 43 Accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria (as of April 2005).

Terry has operated for years as an international lawyer, being authorized by the Ruler’s Court in Dubai to practice as an international lawyer there.

Terry was the founding Chair of the Sydney Branch of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), an international professional association focused on wills, estate and tax, with over 12,000 members and students internationally. He has represented Australia on its London Board.

Terry’s major areas of professional work are:

  • estate planning;
  • business planning;
  • legal agreements;
  • litigation; and
  • establishment of companies, trusts and superannuation funds;

Terry has also advised major corporations on executive remuneration, employment contracts, salary packaging issues, incentive plans, superannuation and Employee Share Plans. His clients include major publicly listed companies in manufacturing, insurance and oil; both Australia and international companies. Terry presents at many seminars and conferences, in Australia and overseas.
