When somebody dies and leaves property or other assets totalling $15,000, the Executor of that Estate must usually obtain a Grant of Probate in order to deal with those assets and distribute them to the beneficiary.

Reseal of overseas and interstate Grants of Probate

People who die overseas or interstate often leave property and other assets in Victoria or New South Wales .

In order for the Executor of these estates to transfer or sell any of these Victorian or New South Wales assets, they must apply for a Reseal of the Grant that they obtained in the deceased’s home State or Country.
